Description / TRUBLUE SPEED Auto Belay

Product Details

The TRUBLUE SPEED Auto Belay is based on our TRUBLUE, the most widely used and trusted auto belay in the world. Retraction speed is fast enough to outrun even the world’s elite speed climbers, and our magnetic braking provides the familiar, gentle descent of a TRUBLUE.

Benefits

  • Same Magnetic Braking: It’s the same patented Magnetic Braking that climbers have come to love because of the gentle descent.
  • Same Reliability and Low Maintenance: Eddy-current magnetic braking is friction-free and has no sacrificial wear parts in the braking system, so our devices are extremely reliable and low maintenance.
  • Retraction Speed: The TRUBLUE SPEED Auto Belay retracts in 2.7 s for a 10 m wall and 3.5 s for a 15 m wall—outpacing IFSC standards and fast enough for today’s and tomorrow’s world records.
  • Pulling Force: Per IFSC standards, the TRUBLUE SPEED Auto Belay exerts minimal force on the climber, so the performance is all yours.

Common Questions

Looking for a little extra help?
What makes TRUBLUE Auto Belays better than the rest?

TRUBLUE Auto Belays use patented magnetic braking technology, also found in high-speed trains and roller coasters. This provides friction-free, reliable braking that eliminates brake pads and reduces wear and maintenance.

Each device undergoes extensive third-party testing by an ISO 17025 accredited lab, ensuring top-tier safety and performance. This results in an extended device lifespan and higher cycle capacity, making TRUBLUE the safest, most durable auto belay on the market.

Why does my TRUBLUE Auto Belay need to be serviced?

TRUBLUE Auto Belays are life-safety devices, and annual service inspections are crucial to maintaining safety standards and ensuring your device warranty remains valid. Lives are quite literally on the line!

Each service includes a comprehensive 62-point inspection, repairs or replacements of worn parts (including webbing), cleaning, and testing across a full range of weights to ensure optimal performance.

How often do I need to service my TRUBLUE Auto Belay?

TRUBLUE Auto Belays require service inspections 15 months after the manufacturing date and every 12 months thereafter to ensure a high standard of performance and safety.

We offer two service options: a standard annual service appointment, where you send in your device for inspection and get the same one back, or contact us for our No Delay Belay program, which provides a quick swap for a recertified fleet device with zero downtime, as well as other benefits.
