Catch mistakes before they happen (even when climbers aren’t clipped in). Our harness-based height sensor detects when an unprotected climber reaches an unsafe height.

When a user climbs higher than ~2.5m without clipping into the auto belay connector, TRU-ALERT emits audio and visual warnings, alerting staff and other users to the potential danger.

An additional order of at least 5 Reset Remotes is suggested for optimal performance, though more may be needed depending on the size of facilities.

Product Details

Our harness-based height sensor detects when an unprotected climber reaches an unsafe height.

The TRU-ALERT Height Sensor will also detect slack in the webbing line from the harness during climbing.

When either scenario is detected – an unprotected climber or excessive slack – and the user is ~2.5m above ground level, the TRU-ALERT Height Sensor activates height warning for 5 seconds. This allows the climber to downclimb to a safe level or correct the slack issue. If the issue is not corrected within 5 seconds, the TRU-ALERT Height Sensor activates a safety alarm until it’s reset.

The height sensor works best with sequenced connectors, including our TRU-CLIP Connector. It’s also compatible with Belay Mate and Self Belay connectors.

Every TRU-ALERT order includes:

  • 1 alarm (30% charged)
  • 1 of each sequenced connector attachment bracket
  • 1 hook and loop harness attachment strap
  • 2 wire wraps
  • 1 USB-C charging cable

An additional order of at least 5 Reset Remotes is suggested for optimal performance, though more may be needed depending on the size of facilities.

Common Questions

Looking for a little extra help?
How is SafeLine used now?

TruBlue Safeline is one device with many missions. Currently, you can fine SafeLines in fire and utility worker training facilities, a crucial part of emergency egress systems for marine ferries, attached to machinery in dropped object protection plans, and more.

How often does a SafeLine need to be serviced?

TruBlue SafeLine requires service inspections 15 months after the manufacturing date and every 12 months thereafter to ensure a high standard of performance and safety. We offer a SafeLine Service Subscription program, which provides a quick swap for a recertified fleet device with zero downtime, as well as other benefits. You still own thedevice.

What mounting height is SafeLine compatible with?

SafeLine with 12.5m (41ft) webbing:

  • Maximum mounting height of 12.5 m (41 ft)
  • Minimum mounting height of 4.5 m (14.8 ft)

SafeLine with 20m (65.6ft) webbing:

  • Maximum mounting height of 20 m (65.6ft)
  • Minimum mounting height of 12 m (39.4 ft)

It is important to note that the maximum and minimum mounting height limits listed for all SafeLine models are requirements, not recommendations. To ensure safe operation, devices must be mounted within the specified mounting height range.

The mounting height for all SafeLine models is measured from the nozzle of the device to the ground.
